Vibraphone
Tom Cummings is undoubtedly one of the finest musicians in the
Northern Hemisphere. True Artistry is only the beginning of his virtuosity. He has
performed at the Berlin Jazz Festival, the Montreaux Jazz Festival, and is invited each
year to play at the North Sea Jazz Festival where his busy schedule has afforded him two
appearances. Cummings has also performed in Vienna, Innsbruck, Salsburg, Amsterdam,
Rotterdam, Munich and the Hague. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from the
University of Houston, and also spent five years at the University of Missouri
Conservatory.
Tom Cummings is an
expert in percussion and has played many shows including West Side Story, Evita, Sound of
Music, Oklahoma and Oliver, to name a few. He has also performed with celebrities such as
Natalie Cole, Ray Charles, Dionne Warwick, Henri Mancini, Freddie Hubbard, Bill Watrous,
Kirk Whalum, Carl Fontana, Jimmy Ford, Arnett Cobb, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Tom's
teaching experience is vast. He is in faculty at Houston Community College's Westchester
Campus and formerly taught at Sam Houston State University and San Jacinto College as well
as the University of Houston.
An active adjudicator
and clinician, Tom Cummings makes his home in Katy, Texas.
