Ben Atkinson

Drums

Ben Atkinson is one of Houston's foremost artists of drums and percussion. With a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas, Ben has extensive performing experience in all styles of music including big band and jazz.

A former member of the infamous Two O'Clock Lab Band, Ben has had the opportunity to play with many noted jazz luminaries such as Rich Matteson, Jim Singletary, Herb Ellis and Pete Jolly. Locally, Ben has played shows for Kay Starr and Diane Carroll. A former member of the Buddy Brock Orchestra, Ben can be heard on many of the band's recordings. The Houston Jazz Festival and the International Festival are regular events in Ben's repertoire.

Aside from his lucrative musical career, Ben makes a living in real estate.
